Basement Demolition in Hamilton
Basement gut-outs for renovations, rental units and waterproofing prep. Drywall, framing, flooring, ceilings and old bathrooms out, down to the foundation walls and slab.
Back to the foundation, ready for what's next
Basements get gutted for three main reasons: a new layout, a secondary rental unit, or water damage and waterproofing. We remove drywall and framing, insulation, ceilings, flooring, old bathrooms and bars, and anything else down to the foundation walls and slab. If your plan calls for it, we also break out sections of the concrete floor for new drains or underfloor plumbing.
Basement debris has to come up the stairs, so we protect the stairwell, the main-floor path and the doorway before we start. Concrete and brick are sorted for recycling, and the rest goes into the bin.

Basement demolition before waterproofing
If water has been getting in, the finished walls have to come off before the foundation can be inspected and repaired. We strip the walls back to the concrete or block, remove wet insulation and framing, and leave the foundation fully exposed and broom-clean for the waterproofing work.

Yes. We saw-cut and break out sections of the slab with electric breakers and hand tools for new drains or plumbing, and sort the concrete for recycling.
In older homes, yes. Basement flooring, pipe wrap and ceiling texture can contain asbestos. Testing, and abatement if needed, happens before we start.
Most basements take two to four days, depending on size, ceilings and whether there is a bathroom or bar to remove.
We remove water-damaged drywall and framing as part of the gut. For significant mold, a remediation specialist should assess it first.
